6 displaced after large apartment fire in central Fresno

FRESNO, California (KFSN) – Six people were displaced after a large fire broke out in an apartment building in downtown Fresno.

Crews responded to Dakota and Cedar Avenues before 9:30 p.m.

The Fresno Fire Department posted on Twitter that at least one apartment unit was engulfed in smoke and flames when crews arrived, urging officials to call in more firefighters to fight the blaze. In all, 48 firefighters responded, including some from the town of Clovis.

Firefighters say the fire destroyed one unit and damaged another.

No one was injured.
