5 shot, unexploded devices found at NYC train station – Press Telegram

NEW YORK (AP) – Five people were shot dead Tuesday morning at a subway station in Brooklyn, New York, police sources said.

Firefighters who responded to smoke reports at 36th Street Station in the Sunset Park neighborhood found several people shot and devices detonated, a New York City Fire Department spokesman said.

According to several police sources reported on the investigation, preliminary information indicated that a suspect was wearing a work vest and a gas mask.

A photo of the place showed people caring for bloody passengers lying on the station floor.

More details were not immediately available.

Trains serving that station were delayed during rush hour.

New York Mayor Eric Adams’s office had no further details immediately. Adams was at the mayor’s residence Tuesday morning.
