4.6-magnitude earthquake hits Ridgecrest in Central California

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — A 4.6 magnitude earthquake shook Kern County, California Thursday afternoon.

It hit the Ridgecrest community at about 6:20 p.m. according to the United States Geological Survey.

The epicenter was 7.8 miles northeast of the community, the same place that was left shaken by a 7.1-magnitude earthquake in July 2019.

Ridgecrest and the surrounding area have been rocked ever since hundreds of smaller aftershocks.
