3 teens arrested after robbery spree in San Marcos

Three teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of robbing nine people at gunpoint in San Marcos for two and a half hours on Sunday, sheriff officials said.

The teenagers – a 15-year-old and two 16-year-olds – were arrested after being pulled over in a stolen Toyota Tacoma, officials said.

The deputies located the truck, which matched the description of the turntable in which the trio of robbers had escaped, on Knoll Street around 2 p.m. – shortly after the report of the ninth robbery in the spree, said an official.

Officials said lawmakers found a loaded, non-serial weapon in the vehicle, which was stolen from Vista on Saturday night.

None of the victims in the spree was injured and investigators believe there are no pending suspects, officials said.

No further information on robberies or vehicle theft was immediately available.

The teens, whose gender was not available, were arrested on suspicion of robbery, possession of a stolen vehicle and gun-related charges. Booked at Juvenile Hall.
