14-year-old girl killed, 3 others, including another teen, injured in rollover crash in Fresno County

FRESNO COUNTY, California (KFSN) – A reversal accident in Fresno County killed a 14-year-old girl and three others, including a 15-year-old girl, in hospital.

The accident happened at the intersection of Mt. Whitney and Cedar Avenue around 7 a.m. Saturday.

California Highway Patrol officers say the collision occurred between two vehicles, a Lexus and a Honda Accord.

The 14-year-old was a passenger in Accord and her mother was driving west on Mt. Whitney approaching the intersection of Cedar Avenue.

The 15-year-old was a passenger in a Lexus as her mother was driving north on Cedar Avenue, approaching the same intersection.

CHP officials say the driver of the Lexus did not stop for the stop sign at the entrance to the intersection and proceeded, right in front of the approaching Honda, leading to the collision.

Both vehicles went off the road through a chain fence and on a dirt plot at the northwest corner of the intersection.

Honda stopped at its wheels. the Lexus overturned several times and rested on its wheels.

The 14-year-old in the Honda was killed in the collision.

The 15-year-old Lexus passenger was transported by helicopter to the CRMC with life-threatening injuries.

The two adults were transported to the CRMC by ambulance, each with serious injuries.

The CHP does not believe that alcohol or drugs were the culprits and all the passengers wore their seat belts.

They are continuing the investigation into the incident.
